We Treat Kids

Kids need the same type of care that adults need, including regular cleanings and exams. As a general dental practice, we offer pediatric dentistry for kids, including fluoride treatments and dental sealants.  We work with our young patients and their parents or guardians to educate them about the importance of maintaining good oral health.

Fluoride Treatments and Dental Sealants

For our younger patients, we stress the importance of considering preventative procedures such as fluoride treatments and dental sealants. These procedures provide protection to the teeth that can help prevent problems from arising in the future. Our goal is always to prevent problems from happening in the first place.

Regular Cleanings and Exams

Routine preventative care is just as important for kids as it is for adults. Our hygienists clean and floss their teeth and we do an abbreviated version of an oral cancer screening.  Generally, we do not do periodontal charting unless a problem area is noted. Cleaning appointments for kids are shorter in length than those for adults.

Sports Mouth Guards

Many of our younger patients participate in school and club sports. We encourage parents to consider custom sports mouth guards to protect their kids’ teeth from accidental blows. Because we feel strongly about protecting teeth, we provide these mouth guards to our patients at a reduced fee.

Happy Visits

Happy Visits are an opportunity for kids ages 3-4 to visit a dental office, sit in a dental chair, and meet our staff in a relaxed and non-threatening environment. Sometimes kids hear stories or see things in movies (such as one of our favorite movies, Finding Nemo) that make them afraid of the dentist. We want to create a fun first visit situation for kids so we can help them start a life long journey of keeping their teeth and gums healthy.
