Dr. Mark Albers

Dr. Mark Albers is a general dentist practicing in Colorado Springs, CO.  As a general dentist, he offers a wide array of dental services for the entire family.  Dr. Albers prides himself on providing the best care possible for his patients.

Background and Education

Dr. Albers grew up in a small farming community in northeast Nebraska.  A third generation dentist, he followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps by attending Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Albers spent a year at Iowa State University before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to finish his undergraduate education.  He was accepted to Creighton University’s School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Albers moved to Colorado Springs in 1987 to work as an associate in a large dental practice.  In 1990, he took over an established practice located in downtown Colorado Springs.  In 2005, he moved his office to its current location at 2155 Hollow Brook Drive in north central Colorado Springs.

Commitment to Excellence

Dr. Albers understands the importance of staying current with the latest developments in dentistry.  Therefore, he spends over 100 hours each year on continuing dental education.  Since 1991, Dr. Albers has been a member of a local study club, meeting eight to ten times a year to discuss the latest in techniques and dental technology, and to work on complex dental cases.  From 1995 – 2018,  he participated in a second study club, meeting for multi-day conferences two to three times per year.  Dr. Albers is a regular attendee at dental conferences in Colorado and other states.

As a result of his commitment to excellence, Dr. Albers regularly ranks as a top dentist in Colorado Springs in the Top Dentists editions of Colo|Spgs Magazine  and Denver-based magazine, 5280.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Albers is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Colorado Springs Dental Society, and Academy of Operative Dentistry.  He serves as a Peer Review Board Member for the Colorado Springs Dental Society.  This board attempts to resolve issues that arise between dental professionals and their patients.

Volunteer Dentistry

In 2006, Dr. Albers helped start a dental clinic for Mission Medical.  He is a past board member of Mission Medical, and volunteered for a number of years at the Mission Medical Dental Clinic.  Dr. Albers also volunteers for  COMOM (Colorado Mission of Mercy), sponsored by the Colorado Dental Association.  COMOM organizes annual free two-day dental clinics in different towns and cities throughout Colorado.  Dr. Albers worked with Teens With Promise, a local charity that advocated for at-risk teens in the Pikes Peak Region.  Internationally, Dr. Albers and his family traveled with OneChild (a children’s ministry headquartered in Colorado Springs) to the Dominican Republic and Kenya to provide dental care to sponsored children.  His most recent dental volunteer work took him to Fiji and Tarawa Atoll in the south and central Pacific Ocean.

Family

Although Dr. Albers and his wife both grew up in Nebraska, they met in Colorado Springs while playing on a co-ed softball team.  They married in 1988 and raised their kids in Colorado Springs.  Dr. Albers and his wife were very active in coaching and attending sporting events when their kids were younger.  They are now enjoying life as empty-nesters!  In his spare time – which he has more of now – Dr. Albers enjoys camping, fishing, snowboarding, and golfing.  He recently finished two terms as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Colorado Springs.
