I try to spend time with specialists to whom I refer so that I can stay up-to-date on the latest techniques they use when they see patients I refer to them. Last Friday, I spent the morning at Associates in Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery shadowing Dr. Mike Onstad, an Oral Surgeon with whom I have worked for many years. The magazine surveys local dental professionals to find out who they would refer family and friends to for certain dental needs. Dental peers identified Dr. Albers as one of the top general dentists in Colorado Springs. We appreciate this vote of confidence from the Colorado Springs dental community. As we’ve discussed with patients during visits, oral health is important for good overall health. An article from Everyday Health titled “Oral Hygiene and Overall Health” talks about this link. The article discusses things that can negatively impact the health of your mouth, such as having a diet high in sugars, smoking, drinking, and taking certain medications. Taking good care of your mouth at home with regular brushing and flossing, coupled with regular checkups with your dentist, can help maintain a healthy mouth. And, a healthy mouth helps maintain a healthy body.
We’ve received notice that Dr. Albers has been selected once again as a top dentist in Colorado. This annual listing is compiled by polling a random selection of Colorado dental professionals. These dental professionals are asked to identify who they think are top general dentists and dental specialists in our state. The official listing will be published in the June edition of the Denver based magazine, 5280, although an online listing can be found now, here. We appreciate being recognized for what we try to do every day – provide the best dental care possible for our patients.
From February 20 – 23, I attended Annual Meetings for the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the Academy of Operative Dentistry. These meetings provide opportunities to attend lectures and clinics, and to discuss current dental topics with dental professionals from around the country.
