Mark T. Albers, D.D.S.

Dr. Mark T. AlbersDr. Albers grew up in a small farming community in northeastern Nebraska.  A third generation dentist, he followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps by attending Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Albers moved to Colorado Springs in 1987 to work as an associate in a large dental practice.  In 1990, he took over an established practice located in the downtown area.  In 2005, the practice was moved to its current location at 2155 Hollowbrook Drive.

Dr. Albers understands the importance of continually learning, enhancing his dental skills, and staying abreast of the latest developments in dentistry, and therefore dedicates over 100 hours each year to continuing dental education.  Since 1991, Dr. Albers has been a member of a local study club which meets eight to ten times each year to discuss the latest in dental techniques and technology, and to work on complex dental cases.  Since 1995,  he has also participated in a second study club, meeting for multi-day conferences two to three times per year.  Dr. Albers is a regular attendee at the Denver Mid-Winter and American Academy of Restorative Dentistry meetings, and he also attends meetings of the International Academy of Gnathology.  This commitment to excellence has resulted in Dr. Albers regularly being recognized for the quality of his dentistry in Denver-based magazine, 5280, as well as the Top Dentists editions of Colorado Springs Style Magazine.

Dr. Albers spent one year at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to finish his undergraduate education.  He was accepted to Creighton University’s School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Albers is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Colorado Springs Dental Society, and Academy of Operative Dentistry.  He serves as a Peer Review Board Member for the Colorado Springs Dental Society.  This board attempts to resolve issues that may arise between dental professionals and their patients.

In 2006, Dr. Albers helped start a dental clinic for Mission Medical.  He is a past board member of Mission Medical and continues to volunteer each month, seeing patients at the Mission Medical Dental Clinic.  In 2010 and 2011, Dr. Albers and his family traveled with One Child Matters (a children’s ministry headquartered in Colorado Springs, formerly known as Mission of Mercy) to the Dominican Republic (2010) and Kenya (2011) to provide dental care to children  who are sponsored through One Child Matters.  Dr. Albers has also volunteered for  COMOM (Colorado Mission of Mercy), sponsored by the Colorado Dental Association.  COMOM organizes annual free dental clinics in different towns and cities throughout the state, with the 2015 clinic being held in Canon City.  Dr. Albers also works with Teens With Promise (formerly Children of Promise), a local charity which advocates for at-risk teens in the Pikes Peak Region.  Dr.  Albers is a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church.

While Dr. Albers and his wife both grew up in Nebraska, they met in Colorado Springs while playing on a co-ed softball team.  They were married in 1988.  Their daughter graduated from Colorado School of Mines in 2014, married a fellow Mines graduate, and is currently living and working in Oklahoma.  Their son is scheduled to graduate this May from the University of Delaware.  Dr. Albers and his wife were very active in coaching and attending many sporting events while their kids were younger.   In his spare time, Dr. Albers enjoys camping, fishing, and snowboarding.

Mark T. Albers, D.D.S.
Dear Dr. Albers: I am very thankful to God and you for your talents and the wisdom you used with my dentures. I can now crunch the tiny seeds in a strawberry! I am so grateful to know what that feels, sounds and tastes like. Not to mention chewing carrots, apples and steak. I am not afraid I will choke anymore. My teeth are beautiful and so is my smile — I have received compliments, something that hasn’t happened to me in a long, long time. You and your staff are very professional, kind, and respectful with your utmost concern for your patient’s well being. Thank you again.
